What eSocial is and why your company needs to pay attention

Understanding exactly what eSocial is and its implications is essential for any organization. Check out this article and learn all about it!

eSocial was launched by the Federal Government in 2015 and since then has undergone some changes. The objective of the creation of the program is, essentially, the reduction of bureaucracy and the aid of the fulfilment of all obligations of the company towards the employee in a simpler, easier and more practical way.

Throughout this article you will learn:

  • what eSocial is;
  • how important it is for your company.

Check below and learn about!

What is eSocial?

eSocial, as the Digital Tax Bookkeeping System of Tax, Social Security and Labour obligations is known, has arrived to make companies' work easier.

The project, in short, unifies in a single submission all tax, social security and labour documentation about the organisation and the employee. Before, it was necessary to send all this material through several different channels and this ended up generating a high occurrence of frauds, evasions and other illicit actions.

Some of the information that is unified in eSocial are:

  • payroll;
  • data from the contract with the employee;
  • attestations;
  • FGTS receipts;
  • Corporate Income Tax returns;
  • admission and dismissal;
  • DARF;
  • RAIS;
  • terminations;
  • and more.

How important is it for the company?

Now that you understand what eSocial is, understanding its importance for organisations becomes much easier.

For the company, the biggest advantage is the guarantee that the law is being complied with in a simpler way, since all the information is centralized. This ensures greater productivity for HR, since it takes less time to send information to the government.

Furthermore, eSocial guarantees much greater legal certainty both for companies and for the employees themselves, since the records are integrated and available at all times.

Today, its use is already mandatory for all companies in the country. In early 2020, there was an update in the eSocial system and it became even simpler and aims to offer the government more accuracy when it comes to monitoring the registered data.
